Pen y Cae is mainly for the use of not-for profit organisations (schools, Scouts etc) who want to get groups of people out into the countryside.
There is some availability for other kinds of groups, but these are charged at higher rate, because they help to fund the not-for-profits.

If you are just looking for a holiday cottage for a group of friends, then you will fall into the latter category, and availability will be limited.

Please note that, as Pen y Cae is completely off-grid and relies on solar power for heating and lighting, it will not be available for booking between the end of October each year until the middle of March the following year.

Bookings for March 28th 2026 onwards are now open using the form below. Pen y Cae will be closed from 1st November 2026 for the winter. This is to allow us to drain down the water supply to avoid freezing over the winter months and is not negotiable.
